Meditations to Bring Peace to Difficult Times

Times aren’t always as easy as you think they should be. In fact, there are times that are downright difficult, challenging, and upsetting. While you might know that you can change your mind and your feelings at any time, this doesn’t make it simple. In order to clear your mind and to allow for positive energy to flow into your brain, you need to look into meditating for peace and calm. Even if you’ve tried meditation before, these meditations are designed to help you during difficult times – right now.

Meditation + Nap

Sometimes, you just want to drift away from your troubles for a bit and you can do that with a meditation and nap combination. All you need to do is to begin by finding a comfortable position and stay in that position for an extended period of time. You might want to play some soft music or just find a quiet space in your day, but lie there and let your thoughts drift away. This is not a time to think about how you will solve any current troubles, but you will begin to think about nothing at all. Try to keep your mind clear of thoughts and ideas, and fall asleep if that feels like it’s going to help. Even just fifteen minutes of this practice can help you stay positive during your day. 

One Hundred Breaths (or More)

The trick with meditation for some people is that they can get bored with what they’re doing, so they stop. Instead, try to make it a bit of a game. Take one hundred breaths and count each one. This will allow you to have something else to focus on besides not thinking, while the rest of your body is in the meditative state. You will probably find that after about 50 breaths, you don’t remember to count anymore or you begin to feel so good that you increase the breaths you’re counting. When you’re a person who needs something to focus on, this counting breath exercise can be the best meditation for you.

Musical Meditation

For those who are interested in listening to something in order to block out their thoughts, new age or instrumental music is best. Find something that allows your brain to wander, without remembering anything that might be bothering you. Put on your headphones, hide in a corner somewhere and listen to the CD or album until it’s over. This is your meditation exercise for the day and it can help you to reorganize your thoughts and become more resistant to stress and other frustrations. 

Difficult times happen at any time, but the more meditation you do on a regular basis, the less they will affect you. When your body is already prepared to handle negative thoughts and emotions and send them on their way, you will be a person who can walk into and out of any crisis without being worse for wear. Meditation works to bolster your confidence and your power in life. Try adding just 10 minutes a day to see how much better you can feel. No matter what.
