Thank you for taking the time to respond so thoughtfully and openly to my questions. It was helpful to hear your perspectives, and your insights caused me to reflect more deeply on some things...

re: you shared that you've received a lot of requests to edit the video and cut out pauses: I personally feel the video (non) editing was perfect as it was, for the exact reasons you intended. The fact that it was "real" and showed the truth of how the process unfolds made it especially valuable and interesting (climatic). Anyway, however you choose to do your videos will be wonderful I'm sure-I just wanted to offer another perspective to balance some of the feedback. :-)

Thank you for clarifying that those souls (little girl and her family) are now "doing fine" and have gone to the other side. I was concerned that their traumatic manner of death may have caused them to stay earth bound, continuing to experience the pain and suffering of their last moments on this earth. I appreciate your explanation that they remember and come to tell you and "impress upon you" what happened, but that doesn't mean they are still suffering.

It was helpful to be reminded that the soul usually leaves the body earlier on so it doesn't experience as much pain. (I also saw an Oprah Show with MD's sharing about how the body only feels pain if it needs to be made aware of something being wrong. It is the body's method of sending us a message that we need to act. For example, someone who gets bit by a shark only feels pain until they realize their bleeding. Once they are aware of the problem, they don't feel the pain). It was also very helpful to realize that "shock" protects people from having to experience the full impact of pain/terror at the psychological and emotional levels as well.

I have been tearing up a bit as I write this...it tears me up inside to think of people going thru anything like what that family went thru. My heart goes out to the little boy (man) who had to watch his family being killed like that and what he has had to deal with.

The night that I read your response I was reflecting on these things and also wondering why I seem to have an especially difficult time with these types of situations (or with the thought of the sight of blood, etc.). The next morning I woke up having received an insight ("aha moment") as to why I feel such a strong connection/sadness to this type of situation. In short, I have been aware for a few years now of a past life (in Atlantis) in which I had a husband and 3 children. My entire family was tortured and killed right in front of me, one at a time while I was forced to watch (and was unable to do anything). I haven't allowed myself to go to the depths of those memories or emotions in this lifetime, but I do feel them bubble up a bit when I think about that family. Anyway, perhaps your reminding me about the body's mechanisms for protecting it from experiencing pain/trauma will help me to heal those really "old memories", as well. Wow, so now not only do we have to be concerned about healing the wounds of this lifetime, we have to sometimes heal from our other lifetimes, as well?! :-) I do believe that when an awareness of a past life comes to us, it also has something to do with this lifetime as well. p.s. I believe that past life memory is part of the (unconscious) reason why I chose not to have children in this lifetime-a fear of having to experience the pain of loss like that again...

On a lighter note, that was an interesting story you shared about seeing your boyfriend's uncle after he'd passed, without both of his legs.

I had previously wondered if perhaps after a soul leaves their body they are able to appear however they'd like and so they choose to appear in a way so that people will "recognize" them.

I have only had a few experiences of consciously seeing a nonphysical being. Even though I have always wanted to be able to see them, the occasion usually excites me and scares me at the same time!
Anyway, a few years ago my Aunt Geri was dying from cancer. I was laying down for a nap one day, when I suddenly saw this beautiful, angellic looking being/woman. She was so bright, and her eyes exuded such a joy and a love that I've never seen on this earth. As she saw that I was able to see her, she started toward me with arms outstretched. Meanwhile, I was dealing with my human response to seeing a being that looked as real as any human in the physical world. I felt so excited to be able to see her, yet freaked out by it at the same time! lol A part of me was conscious to try to stay in a peaceful state, but as I lost that vibration I also lost the ability to see her.

Even though that being didn't look anything like Aunt Geri, my intuition was that it was her-in spiritual form. I assumed that it must be a premonition because it was believed she would live a few more weeks. Of course, the next day I received the word from Geri's daughter that she had indeed passed that same day that I received the vision. Even though I loved Aunt Geri very much, I don't think I shed a tear-after having seen the great joy and LIGHT in her eyes, how could I be sad? I felt happy for her!

I wonder what it was like for you, since you were able to see/connect with nonphysical beings since you were a young girl. Perhaps you didn't feel fearful or "freaked out" by it, because you had a supportive grandmother you could talk about it with? Also, perhaps when we're younger we are more open and see it as being quite "natural"...

Re your closing comments: "If I can help someone to move beyond their pain to make at least a little sense of their experience here on this thrill ride we call life then it's worth it. I also wouldn't trade for the world the connection to all other beings...It would be a very lonely place not to be able to feel the animals and the life coursing through the plants and trees..."

Thanks so much for the great response to the video! Like I say in the description, it's my first blind investigation, so it's more than a little raw, but it was important to me to show the truth about how it unfolded as opposed to making it "slick." I've gotten a lot of requests to cut out the pauses, though, so for future videos I'll actually be doing more editing for interesting content (not making the viewer sit through such long pauses, etc.), but I wanted to make sure that viewers got to see at least one real-time video of the process.

Although this was definitely a difficult one for a first-time, I'm glad this one was chosen since the energy was still strong enough to be picked up with absolutely no effort.

Below are my responses to your questions:

This was an incredibly difficult one to process - As you can see by the video, I was literally overwhelmed from the second I got there...All I kept seeing was blood and immeasurable fear. It was truly horrifying.

Are they still working thru their suffering (and feeling somewhat attached to the physical dimension) or have they been able to heal and move into the higher realms? Is it just a splinter (residue) of their soul energy/essence that is sharing about the event with you? I'm hoping that they have received total and complete healing and are now at Peace...

The little girl is no longer feeling any pain - as far as she let me know, she and her family members are fine. When the soul leaves the body, its consciousness is still connected to the physical so it can still experience physical ailments, but once it passes to the other side, all pain and physical limitations are gone. An example of this is my boyfriend's uncle, who passed from diabetes a couple of months ago. His uncle had been in the hospital for his diabetes for about a week when one night I woke up in the early morning hours to use the restroom. I'd never met his uncle, but my boyfriend had mentioned that several years ago he'd had to have one of his legs amputated due to his illness. As I walked down our hallway I saw a man with no legs on the floor. I knew it was his uncle but was confused because as far as I knew he was only missing one leg; but I used the restroom and returned to the room, shaking my boyfriend and telling him that his uncle had just passed...Just then his father called on our cell phone to tell him the same news. (As it turned out his uncle haxd eventually had to have both legs amputated). About a week and a half later at the funeral, I saw his uncle again, but this time he was in what appeared to be perfect health - he had both legs and looked perfectly healthy.

They do remember their passing, but are no longer experiencing the pain of it. When they're telling me how they passed, they will often impress on me what happened to them so that I can experience the sensation (obviously muted 10,000 per cent, I'm sure). If it is any comfort, it has been my experience that, once the soul begins to disengage from the body (which often begins to happen long before the body itself dies), no pain is experienced. In this case, the victims bodies were severely traumatized and I can't say that they didn't experience pain, but not in the degree that one would think based upon what the scene looked like. After the first blow, the shock and fear response kicked in and they were barely conscious of anything other than their panic. That is one of the physical body's kindest automated responses: shock...it tends to block awareness of pain.

It's not always easy...as in this case, but for every difficult or painful experience, there are a million amazing ones. Most situations are not quite as traumatic as this one, but there are times when it can be very painful to be so connected, especially when it comes to the suffering of others - that one tears me apart. But it's worth it...If I can help someone to move beyond their pain to make at least a little sense of their experience here on this thrill ride we call life then it's worth it. I also wouldn't trade for the world the connection to all other beings...It would be a very lonely place not to be able to feel the animals and the life coursing through the plants and trees...

No problem at all! I'm glad I got the opportunity to expound a little bit on that...Like I said, part of my path is to help people understand "psychic" phenomena a little better. I think your original concept of what it means to be psychic is shared by the majority of people in the world, which, understandably, makes them reluctant to believe in psychic abilities. If the situation were reversed and I didn't have the life I've had, I know I'd have a difficult time believing that there were people who "know everything." So thank you again for the great question!

p.s. When you feel ready to put yourself out there with this type of work, let me know. I (among others) will like to share/forward your videos to many in my address book. I think your first video was amazing and shows your gifts in this area! It was kind of windy though-I'm sure the sound quality will be better in future ones.

I'm not able to watch hospital type tv shows, as I find it difficult to even watch someone get a shot (wimpy, hu? lol). I also can't bear to watch movies that show gory, violent scenes. I may have been a nurse if I could stand the sight of blood, thank goodness there are people who are able to do that. Anyway, again I can't imagine what it must feel like to be there, knowing/feeling what those people went thru, the horror of it all, etc.

I wonder how you and others are able to deal with sensing all that you do in those situations...hmm, a thought just came to me. Several years ago I did some past life regression work (via hypnosis) with regard to 2 particular lifetimes that were especially powerful for me (and relate to some choices I made in this lifetime as well). At times when I went to especially painful/emotional scenes, the hypnotherapist suggested that I "pull up" out of my body so that I could view it from the perspective of my Higher Self. I found that I could quickly shift back and forth from the human level, to the soul level. The human felt the strong emotions, whereas the Higher Self felt peace and total understanding...
p.s. I later received hypnotherapy training, it can be a wonderful tool as well as fascinating!

I look forward to watching future videos and hearing you share more insights about the dynamics. I agree, it is also a great way to dispell the myths and "enlighten" others...

Thank you so much for the congratulations and for the heads up on my "about Savina" page! I'm happy to say that going out on my own was the best thing I ever could have done! And I've received numerous signs recently reaffirming for me that I made the best choice. It's scary, but when you're following your passion, it's worth the fear to make it happen...

Thank you so much for your response. Your answer reminded me spirits are just like us minus the body. Also, that people who were not good communicators in life, most likely wouldn’t be in spirit. So thank you for that as well. It also helped put the situation in perspective: If I was a psychologist and found myself in a restroom with a bully I would not be compelled to connect with them, learn more or try to help. I would get in, get out and go enjoy my movie.

As I begin this path in mediumship it is great to hear you distinguish and identify a situation where you chose not to engage. I like how you said she was not leading you to the back of the bathroom to enlist your help but to “herd” you. Therefore you decided it was not the best use of your time/energy/skill. Great info to put in my mental toolbox in the event I come across a similar situation!

I find that a lot of people expect me to be omniscient in my Tarot readings. Not only that, but to be able to change what I see to fit what they want. I used to do my readings for donations but had to start charging because people who were upset, usually that I hadn't seen their boyfriend who was a total dog coming back to them and being faithful forever (actually, a dog would be more faithful) decided to stiff me because they were angry with what I'd read for them. A psychic isn't omniscient. Thank you for sharing this.

Great question! - And one worth going into detail about since a part of my work is to help dispel some very common misconceptions about my field. In addition to leaving this here as a response to your question, I'm also going to post both your question and this response as an individual blog post so that others can see it...

It's actually a common misconception about mediumship and psychic work in general that, because we're more attuned, we're able to know everything about a situation at a glance... I wish it was so easy! If that were the case, I'd be able to "download" every piece of information about every person, place and thing in the universe and know everything - I would be God-like - and nothing is further from the truth...I am very much a human who just happens to be highly attuned to EVERYTHING around us, not just what we can see with our physical eyes. I think I may have told the class about the time I went to the dentist and the dental assistant asked me, "Doesn't it give you a headache?" Having absolutely no idea what she was referring to, I said, "What?" to which she replied, "Knowing everything." The fact is that only God knows everything - I just have more information available to me than the average person.

In actuality, there's no "download" of information - In any given situation, I'm only able to know whatever information I pick up either through residual energy of whatever happened (and in this case, the energy of the entity herself is so dense and menacing that it overpowers whatever residual energy may have been left there) OR whatever information that the spirit gives me which, in this case, was nothing other than that she was trying to "herd" me into the back of the bathroom.

To use the physical senses as an illustration of this, if you were to walk into a room, you wouldn't know more about the people in the room or about the rest of the house than your eyes & ears told you - you wouldn't walk into that room and suddenly be able to see and hear everything that had ever happened there. It's the same for the spiritual senses - they pick up the information available in spirit, but only the information that's AVAILABLE in spirit - if I'm trying to talk with a spirit who doesn't want to talk to me, it's the same as trying to talk with someone in physical form who doesn't want to talk...Or, if for whatever reason I'm not able to pick up any residual energy left from a traumatic event (I may be tired, shut down for the night or distracted, or, as in this rare case, the spirit's energy may be overpowering any other energy there OR there may just not be much of the residual energy left).

My guides do give me pertinent information and are constantly giving me tidbits of information about people and situations I'm in, but they don't give me entire histories...Think of it as being just the same as having a relationship with you - you may tell me a ton of information about your life on the first day that we became friends, but you couldn't tell me EVERY experience in your life - it would come up as it became relevant.

Also, this is a rare situation - normally, I wouldn't have a problem going to the back of the bathroom if that's where the spirit needed to lead me to give me information, but that isn't the case here. Just as I picked up that her clearing her throat to get me to feel more comfortable staying in the bathroom longer was a trick, so is the "herding" - she's a very strong, very heavy energy and not someone who I'm going to be able to help (or who even wants my help). As you integrate your abilities into your life, you become aware of the situations where you can make a difference and the ones that are just lessons or just day to day experiences.

After having had so many experiences with spirits, it's pretty rare that I'm frightened - it takes a lot and, to be honest, I can't remember the last time it happened - but this spirit definitely makes me feel uncomfortable. If I had stayed in the room long enough I probably could have connected to the energy line of the spirit or worked my way through her energy to get to the residual of what had happened, but in a very few cases, there's not really much you can do. My guides are always with me and in this case I was advised that, while I wasn't in any physical danger, no real good could come from engaging such a negative energy, so I left as quickly as anyone else would :) (as quickly as if I were in a room alone with a menacing man who I didn't know or trust).

You asked if, in such a situation, I felt compelled to get more information. In a case like this, with a clearly negative entity, there's absolutely no compulsion to get more information - I was getting all of the information I needed, which was that her intentions in getting me into the back of the room were not for any positive purpose. In this blog post I do make light of it, since these types of experiences are just part & parcel of my life, but in all seriousness, there are some situations that are really best just left. This place is one of them.

Hi Savina! As a medium, in that kind of situation are you compelled at all to ask for more info or just get the heck out? It sounds like you want to get out fast. I guess that kind of surprised me. I assumed (please note it is an assumption) with your skill, training and experience that you are able to "download" the info about her since you seem to have a few run ins. Is it a thing where your guides/intuition tell you not to engage? This fascinates me. Tell me more : )
